Hadn't heard anything for two weeks so prodded the salesman. A few hours later got an email saying the car is being shipped from Germany. Not sure but I'm assuming that means that it is on "The City of Rome" which is currently doing 13 knots in the vague direction of The Tyne.

Well delivery date is still unconfirmed but I'm hoping for 1st Sep.
