Hi everyone,

I saw this article today....I am not trying to cause panic I just would like to confirm if this applies to the 8v. I am thinking of buying the 8v a3 1.8tfsi 7dsg (no manual available in my country)

It doesn't apply to the 8v if you read the article ..

Audi’s smallest cars, the A1 and A3 hatchbacks, will be affected by the recall. The models in question were built between 2008 and 2011, and are powered by turbocharged, four-cylinder 1.4-litre and 1.8-litre engines. The cars are all fitted with Volkswagen’s DSG transmission, which is sold by Audi as S-Tronic.

i was not sure what year exactly the first 8v a3 was built.

Definitely wasn't 2011.

Mid-ish 2012.

recalled cars are from 2008 - 2011 so 8P chassis so new 8V's are not implicated
