I can see the S3 Saloon selling more then the 3dr tbh.
The more I think about this, if I was leasing I'd probably buy the saloon. It does look good. My main concern would be unchartered territory in terms of residual values buying my own.
After owning an A4 for three years, there wouldn't be much competition there for me. The car is nearly half a metre longer, has an annoying offset pedal layout, higher waistline and doesn't feel anywhere near as sharp to drive as the A3. Factor on a 3.0V6 engine compared to a 2.0, where you'd be getting similar performance for less fuel and it's starting to look like a good buy.
The propostions remind me more of the B5 A/S4.
If they saloon is costing something like £3k more, do you think it'll be as popular?
Agreed GNJ, this is the one I will be ordering as soon as the official prices are released , we're a week away from knowing what those prices will be but most reviewers are suggesting it will be pretty much in line with the Sportback. It's a little longer and wider than the Sportback with a larger boot, apparently the rear legroom is very similar too, although the roofline is a little lower, the 1.4 TFSI COD is standard and the lead time will be on a par with the Sportback, all in all if your downsizing from a A4/A6 Saloon its seems like the perfect choice and have to admit...its a real looker!!I really want one of these. At the moment I definitely prefer it to the hatch.
Chinese market numbering system - indicates acceleration relative to other models apparently!Erm, that can't be a 4L car? What does the '40' mean in the model designation?
