    Albums you always return to.

What albums would you always return too, no matter what age they are, or how long it is since you have listened to them?

For me it would be Iron Maidens, Live After Death album. First heard it when I was 14 (22 years ago ) and still enjoy it as much now as I did on the first listen.

Another would be Marillions Script for a Jesters Tear. Was 16 when I 1st heard this and still feels like yesterday

A more recent album I keep listening to over and over would be Ryan Adams, Gold. Every song just does it for me.

So what albums does everyone keep returning to and playing over and over again?

Must add to my list, The Police, Ghost in the Machine. Got a mono tape deck and this album on cassette when I was about 11. My very first ever album quickly followed buy a copy of ZZ Top, Eliminator.

Both albums I would still listen to today

    Just thought of another -

U2, Joshua Tree. I was 16 when this was released and unlike me, it just stands the test of time.

Radiohead - the Bends (when they weren't so far up their own arses)
    Pink - Mizunderstood
    Costello - This Years Model

As the title of the thread suggests these are proper end to end albums (no fillers). Some of the suggestions are classic 4-5 good tracks the rest is rubbish. London Calling is a terrible album apart from 3-4 tracks (and I love the Clash).
Joshua Tree is another classic half brilliant album - people listen to the first five tracks which are epic, but then the rest is pretty dire.

Music is a bit like religion IMO.

No one will ever totally agree with anothers choice.

"Give 'em enough rope" is a far better Clash album, and that's not an opinion, it's a fact!

I agree and add in The Wall and Animals, I never tire of listening to DSoM and The Wall. I also enjoy a comprehensive Bowie Catalogue and dig into it on a regular basis.

Me and the Mrs have a varied collection and in the main we tend to enjoy each others collections too. She is a big Genesis fan, which I also enjoy.

Loads of 80s greatest hits, bit of Craftwerk and early Human League too through to Bob Marley.

Some great Albums in the list.

Totally agree. 'Forgotten sons' was in my MP3 mix on the way to golf yesterday. Must have been the reason I shot a PB 3 over par!!

    BTW it's 'Real to Reel'

Did you ever manage to see them live? My one major musical regret is missing out on a gig at Newcastle in 1988 just before Fish left...

    Other fave albums:

    Bryan Adams - Reckless
    Van Halen - 1984
Bon Jovi - Slippery when wet

    or for fuel economy :
    Eagles - Hotel California
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

God. I look at that list and realise how old I am...

    Cheers,
    Alistair

Fantastic lyrics and tunes. Haven't listened to this in years.

Had forgotten how good it is.
Now that is a blinding album...
I was just listening to that the other day. Superb...
I'm not especially into Marillion or rock in general...but that is awesome.

My folks moved to Ibiza when I was very young so it swayed my musical tastes / influences a bit, but I guess it broadened it rather than restricting it to a particular genre. My love of music sits right alongside cars/modding!

After reading this thread I thought I'd rummage through my old stuff and listen to something I hadn't listened to in years...

So out came Celine Dion and Shania Twain (very manly, I know lol)

I always find myself listening to the Miami Vice OST. Come back to Evanescence - Fallen every now and then too.

    Coldplay - X & Y
Madonna - Confessions on a dance floor
    Anything from MJ
    Taio Cruz - Departure
    Timbaland - Shock Value
    Coss

S3 S-tronic: Panther Black, lots of extras, MTM remap
