im in Whitehaven mate send me a PM and ill send you my number, can check the cam timing with VCDS. I have seen and heard of a few getting the timing wrong with the new belt if they don't use the locking pins etc it can get out and still run ok just not as well as it should
That would be spot on mate, cheers. Car had a cam belt at 66k, and now done 105k, but in service history notes, the **** I bought it off had complained about cold start issues and had the glow plugs replaced about 10k ago. The rough idle is intermittent, and the car sometimes shakes like its windy outside. The cold start is always poor, so wanted to rule out timing as other threads seem to show all these problems can be related to timing being out. Whereabouts are you?

I noticed on the map that you have a vag com cable. I've got a '56 A4 2.0TDi and wanted to check / adjust the timing, as the idle can be a bit lumpy and cold starting is poor. I was wondering if you could help me out please? I live at Harrington near Workington.
