  • Hi, just seen and looked through your build, looking very good and great work so far, I noticed you fitted 2.0t coilpacks? What benefits do these have and did have to buy any other parts to fit them?
    Thanks

Hi, thank you. :) Basically they are the evolution of the old 1.8T coil packs. Cant remember the specifics. You need a fitting kit to install them because they are longer than the old type.
Available from Awesome, Creations etc. As are the packs them selves. Also the older engine blocks need the updated wiring loom too.
    Hope this helps.

Hi ,on my rocker cover (looking at the engine) I have a black box thing which sits over one of the coils.if I was to upgrade with the fitting kit etc then that last coil wouldn't fit due to the black box? (If your car has this, where did you move the black box toohttp://i55.tinypic.com/15nah5u.jpg (in this picture its next the split hose sitting on a coilpack).

That is part of the N249 system. You can remove that box when you do the N249 bypass modification.
Defiantly worth while doing as it a completely pointless bit of rubbish that does not need to be there.
This is one of the most common small mods to do on AUM engines. There will be a guide in the 8L forum.
