Re: Buxton GP Weekend 25th/26th/27th April 2003

    Dave,

Route is planned mate. Same as last year. Basically, because most people coming this time have not been before (or not for a long time) the route will be new to those people.

There are one or two bits where take-offs are very very likely. The main one being on the A54 from Macclesfield to Buxton. I forget where it is everytime. If you are doing anything over 70 you will fly.

Barry, bring the Mini if you've not got the Evo. Cross country it should be very entertaining if the reviews are anything to go by.

I'm now booked into the Palace Hotel at a stoopid price because I was too bloody lazy to sort it out earlier! Its the big place on the hill, not sure where it is in relation to Broad Street, but I am sure I will find it.

Should be there early to mid-afternoon, so I will text you all when we arrive.

Looking forward to it! See you all soon.

ps what's the name of the curry place? I have heard there is a curry house in Buxton that is very highly recommended and wondered if it was the same?

Ok, David in front, Jon in front of David. Road opens out onto a straight, with a 90 degree bend at the end, followed by an uphill section. All open, perfectly easy to see the whole section.

A moments hesitation... is David going? Nope. Oh, I'm in third, handy, I'm gone. Screams past David, levels with Jon on the bend, who's now denied cutting the apex. Overtake round the bend. Again, open road, easy to see up the hill. Get round and move back in much to both Jon and Davids surprise.

Well, in fact David was just going, in fact had looked in mirror to see mark a country mile away behind some pensionable Renault 9, pulls out to see a strage flash in the mirror that was Mark being the king of the late brakers alongside. Came damn close to a swap of paint, but nice move nevertheless!
