    Confused - Different quote results

I'm 23 and haven't passed my test yet (am hoping to soon) but looking at quotes (with having a full UK license) from sites I'm getting different results. When doing so with Autotrader I'm getting quotes of around £1700 for a say, 2008 sportback A3 from Admiral on but I'll then go on gocompare and I'll be quoted around £2500.

So basically, is this much of a worry? If I see a quote for £1600 from one source does it even matter what I might see from any other website?

Are you saying you are getting different quotes from the same insurance company, even though quoted through different broker sites? Car insurance is a funny game to be honest these days, just go with the best quotes usually does it for me.

I have resorted to buying through compare the mearkat.com and just paying for the cheapest one then calling up to make sure the mods 'went through on the quote'. usually i then beg and plead not to raise the quote as my insurance runs out and im unlikely to get a refund in time to get a new policy!

For modified, you've got to give the site sponsors a call, not rely on these quote sites.

Modified + new driver = very expensive.

Stick with something standard for at least your first year of driving.

Yea, I'm just not sure of the whole insurance purchasing process. If my details are correct online, and I pay for it online then that's all there is to it? So if I see the lower quote from the company that gives a different price from a different site it shouldn't matter and I could just pay for the lower one?

I'm not getting any mods on mine, at least not any internal ones.

Cool. Yea that's ok, I've done a quote with me still learning and with me having a full license already so I have a general idea of the costs.

when i tried sky insurance i was told they wont even consider anyone with less than 2yrs no claims,
i ended up going with admiral, cheaper than any one else for both cars.

Our minimum criteria for our car club scheme (which is set up for car enthusists who are members of affiliated car clubs and drive specialist vehicles) is to be aged 19 or over with a full 2 years driving experience.

    Thanks

Ok thanks for that. Do you know how much adding a spoiler would typically increase the insurance if at all?

No, it will vary wildly between insurers.
