It's that time of the year again to renew the car insurance. I'm limited on the companies I can use because of the modifications on my S3, which makes shopping around harder than normal. Everywhere I tried quoted me more than I paid last year, which I wasn't happy with. I then tried A-Plan who I used to be insured with four years ago when I had a heavily modified DC5 Type R. I spoke to a bloke called Chris who liked the fact I was part of an owners club, and came back with a quote of £519, £178 cheaper than my renewal quote for this year. That's with all mods declared on a like for like basis, 10k miles a year, etc. I'm 30 years old with 10 years NCB protected, living in a group B postcode area. Definately worth a try if anyone is finding it hard to get a good quote this year.
