    Car Wrapping?

If you have a car wrapped, does that mean that the car is then classed as 'modified'... therefore shoving the premium (even more) through the roof?

yes mate it will definately be classed as a modification . the insurer asks does the vehicle differ in any way from original manufactuers specification that wording covers everything . which means even if you put brighter headlight bulbs in then it is different to original spec not just that you will have to by law tell the DVLA of the colour change

Speak to a specialist insurer, you might be pleasantly surprised.

yep, i was thinking of wrapping my A4 with white vinyl, rang my provider (Swiftcover) & was told if i did carry out the modifiaction i would have to canel my policy and insure elsewhere. So in a way i'm glad i didn't go ahead and wrap it without checking

Not sure about the insurance part, but you dont have to inform the dvla as the colour change is not permenant

No you don't as it's a covering and not a permanent colour change. Friend of mine has gone through this in length after having his Focus RS wrapped.
