Thread: Sky Quote for 2001 S3.... Waste of time if you dont have off street parking.

Was expecting a competitive quote but all I got was a big fat NO.

Adrian Flux have quoted £450 this year (parked by the road/all mods declared)

what they say Maz? Wouldnt insure you on the car?

They basically said, your car is parked by the roadside so we cannot provide a quote.

They told me they won't insure anyone in Merseyside. Its not all like living in the hood

Hmmm, I'd be looking into the discrimination route there - that's shocking.

Sky were pretty good for me.

They were £50 cheaper than all the others. ie flux etc

All goes to show it is a insurance lottery

I got a highish quote on the S3 recently fella & I'm just into a Merseyside postcode. However, that was after I had to call them back. I remember you didn't get a callback either. Maybe that's their way of filtering us out.

OP - try all those mentioned or Greenlight - did a cracking deal for me this year and mod friendly...

I ended up phoning back mate, got told them can't be competive with regards to the area.

Stuck with Greenlight in the end, they do consistently beat everyone and have for years, just always nice to get a few prices.

To be fair guys, Ollie from Sky Insurance is superb and answers all questions (no matter how many confused PMs, eh Ollie!). I am in an Sk9 postcode and Sky can't insure me. That's that in my mind now.

There are reasons behind their decisions on who they can and can't cover and all companies have them. As mentioned above, just move on and find another firm.

I was told because I live in the crime capital that is Preston they couldn't offer me a quote?

I think it maybe better for Sky to post where and who they will cover, it'll be a very short list, and the rest need not apply.

They are very helpful and friendly people, lets take nothing away from them, but if you live north of Watford and have a pulse they probably won't offer cover.

Just tried Greenlight and they quoted a touch under £1400

I live in Alderley Edge, so surrounded by pretty decent cars/surroundings, but it has a Stockport postcode.

Some companies will cover you, some won't. You just have to ring around these days!

Admittedly, for me, Sky insurance was the best quote for me last year, but I stuck with AdrianFlux out of loyalty, as the pretty much matched the Sky quote, they was a few quid away, but they have all my car mod details etc., so I didn't bother switching.
