tv set kaput?

was watching tv last night then tv turned off and something exploded inside i opened it up to see if i see anything i found this
do you think if i replace this tv will be ok ?

fingermouse may have been right and it was caused by something else or it could have just been it's time to go.

We have a Panasonic that made a crack smelt of burning and turned itself off, although it was only a small item at fault the whole power card needed replacing. I would be very wary of replacing bits in a TV.
