XBOX 360 Problem

Got a XBOX 360 given to me to see if i can get it repaired, any ideas on where to take it or a job i can tackle my self?

Problem being there is a red light instead of a green light and it will not read any discs?

Any help or contacts welcome

the red light of death!!

think that would have to go back to microsoft buddy. its a known fault - read some place that they fix for free.

if you go to one of the main game shops they should be able to tell you.

As long as its a genuine unit and you have a receipt microsoft will cover the red ring with the three year warranty, however they wont cover the drive not reading the discs if its over 12 months, they are two seperate problems and they refer to the disc problem as wear and tear

after its repared get the disk drive reader changed to one that reads back up disks

So far my 360 has behaved well,but a mates ealier model would over heat and need to be cooled.Another mate has his standing near an open window when he plays it!
The earlier models over heated badly,the new generation seem fine now
