Camcorder to dvd or pc.

I brought a camcorder believing i could plug it into my pc to transfer the video but all i can transfer is still pics and not video.
Is there any way i can transfer the video to my pc so i can burn it to dvd?

What kind of camcorder is it?

If it MiniDV then you should have no problems.

That is the way they are suposed to work so that you basically do all the editing of your video on the PC (or MAC!!) and then burn it back to DVD.

I use iMovie HD to do all mine and it's superb.

you need a DV cable and a firewire card/port
