Hi

I have just got a new 26inch panasonic LCD TV which is great...

I recently bought a new panasonic dvd player which claims to upscale dvd to 1080p..

How do I enable this upscaling..

I am plugged into HDMI socket 1, the dvd is set to interlace at the moment in the setup and is on 576i in the video menu..

Do I just need to select Progressive mode and then 720p video mode for the DVD to be upscaled ?

Also I have another selection RGB/Ycbcr 4:2:2/Ycbcr 4:4:4 !!!! which is best ...

Can I damage the TV using the wrong mode .. interlace/progressive ?

Thanks for helping me understand...

i dont think it will upscale to 1080p only 1080i
1080p is more the bluray and hd discs
my philips has a upscale button on the front

my tv apparently is one of the few tv's that supports 1080p and the dvd player also upscales to 1080p...

I'll try that see what happens..

Not sure how it can support 1080p when its native resolution is 1366x768

Regards

Tim

I am about to go to HDTV and the panasonic is top of my list after researching reviews etc - can I ask which exact model you bought, how much you paid and what you think of the picture, menus etc? I was also thinking of a panasonic dvd player so details on that would also be great. TIA
