Thinking of buying a camcorder soon, don't really know much about them. Just wondering what people recommend?? What format is the best?? Looking for a good deal, Thanks

id recommend going for the HDD type mate, lots more storage without messing with the expence of tapes/MD.
you can transfer straight to your pc, wipe the HDD on the camcorder, then start over again,i have a sony HDD camcorder and the battery life is great and user interface is touch screen which makes it really easy to navigate the menu's.

Yeah was looking at the Sony HDD's. What model do you have? Are they all fairly similar, anything I should specifically be looking for?

Hi there if interested I ended up buying Sony SR33E Hard drive. I hade to look around a bit to find it as quite new, Bought it as has got 40GB hard drive, ended up buying from Currys best offer i could find. Not done loads with it yet but have found it easy to use.
