DVD unlocking

Hey people my dad has a Sony DVP-S735D DVD player which I doubt is multi regional so i was wondering if anyone knows how to unlock it.

Its just I was going to buy a couple of DVD's for his christmas but they are region 1(US).

Switch off, press 5,5,5, then menu, and then hold down 3 for 3 seconds.

While your system is turned OFF press: the TITLE button then, the CLEAR button then, the POWER button. Select the region
Sony DVP-CX860 ​
Open the drive tray. Enter 9,8,1,7 from your remote to access the system menu. Select region from 1 to 6 or set it to 9 for Multiregion. You can also disable Macrovision from this screen.

Insert your disc then press DVD menu button, should take you to menu screen for the film, Then select program button on your remote then selected a few chapters from 2 - 20 say then press play,stop,play,stop until it plays the movie(sometimes works straight off others minutes, it may start playing at chapter 15 but once you have it playing just skip back to the beginning.

Turn on the unit with the remote controller, Wait until "no disc" appears in the unit's display. Press the keys: PAUSE, 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9. And "CODE" will appear in the display. Press the number key that corresponds to the disc zone you want to play within the next 5 seconds:0: All regions / 1: Region#1 / 2: R#2/... and so on. Then, within 5 seconds, press: PAUSE, POWER... and voilà. If you don't have good results, disconnect the equipment and repeat.

On the same topic, does anyone know how to unlock either of these...

I've searched all over but can't find anything for these two.
 
Try the following link for unlocking codes.

Even if your model is not there try the nearest to it. Worked with my last player.

Some players though will not work with a code as far as I'm aware and might need some sort of work on it. Had a Phillips before which required one on the internal wires to be cut. (can't remember what one as it was years ago)
