Upgraded my Nokia N80

i finally found how to reliably update my software on my N80 to the latest version to cure all the poxy Orange firmware!

My phone now works properly thank god...

yep, which method did you use? use nemesis to change the phones product code then flash using Nokia Update? Gonna try this to debrand and update my n73...

Thats exactly it, and it debrands at the same time.

did you backup to mem card and restore afterwards? i've heard reports of this causing problems when unbranding - the phone just says something like "return to operator" once you've restored your backup..

this isn't the work of the poster, and it has been copied across the internet widely.

I've successfully flashed my N73 which was a vodafone live! handset, and it appears all OK, MMS, WAP and video calling all working fine. VF Live! start page has been removed from the phone though, so have all the VF certificates - but i didnt use any of the mobile tv rubbish anyway. I could always browse to the vf live! page anyway and add it as a bookmark if i need to use it for any reason.

what product code did you use mate, for n80 orange

0529378 thats the code for a UK Phone.

Got the N73 now and done it on that as well, much better!
