Tom Tom satnav ... Can you use google maps to put a route onto my tomtom?

Im not sure if this is the right section but the satnav section seems to be audi nav only??

Basicaly somebody at work is off around europe next month and is of the thinking that you can plot a route on google maps and then load it onto/ into a tom tom sat nav?
I mean a route meaning a run of choice. not just a from and to.
I like to try and work out good route to drive in the uk so if this is possible it would be great.
Has anybody got any help on this please?
