Thread: Lowering A3 problems

Hi, hoping someone can help me here....

Bought some 40 MM lowering springs for my A3, fitted them no problem and immediately found there to be a rubbing. Thought at first that it was trim, but it turns out to be the ARB on the O/S Driveshaft (A well documented problem I know).

No problem I thought, get some drop links, job done. Drop links fitted and adjusted to 3 different heights, however, still rubbing, just in different places.

Having read through the pages on this forum about this problem, people seem to be experiencing this a lot, but mainly when going over speed bumps etc, even when lowering more than 40 MM. I'm getting this all the time, even under general driving.... WTF? Why is mine so bad? And is this unusual or what?

Thinking about trying to oxy the ARB and bend it a bit out of the way....

Any ideas?

The best thing to do is get the Whiteline ARB that goes under the drive shaft and give a lot more clearance.

That seems like a goos shout dude, but I'm gonna try and get around it before spending extra cash. I've already spent 50 bones on the drop links from your good self.
