I recently bought an A6 2.7t avant and purchased a set of replica s8 wheels to finish the look. Wheels were fitted by Surrey based tyre specialist, RSR tyres - the front supported by 4 mm spacers. Unfortunately found out today from my mechanic that the wheels had the wrong offset and should never have been fitted (bought seperately on ebay - there is a lesson to learn!) there was less than three turns of the bolts holding the wheels on!!

Needless to say I still want to get a nice set of wheels for my car and would prefer to use OEM Audi wheels. Can someone advise me where the best place would be to find a decent set of wheels at a reasonable price or is there anyone offering a nice set of orignal Audi's for sale

Thanks

Stick the originals back on to 'finish the look' as Audi intended!! IMHO:icon_thumright:

Hi thank you for your replies so far

1. re: longer bolts - the problem is that I would need at least 10mm spacers to clear the brake pads and my mechanic does not recommend that I do that - he is of the opinion that I should use OEM wheels - I guess he is a bit of a purist like that

2. re: sticking the originals on- I am putting the originals back on but would prefer to have something a little more distinctive and personal - I felt the S8 replicas were just right without being too flashy - plus the car does not belong to Audi it belongs to me now :icon_thumright: but I appreciate your point of view regarding keeping it real

Does anyone else have any ideas, offers or know of any good Audi breakers

Thanks

as long as you use hubcentric spacers there shouldn't be a problem with longer wheel bolts, unless you do hard track days.
