Hey guys,
Last night, I vagged(sp?) a friend's car to find some trouble codes. The check engine light had come on a while ago, and he was wondering why. Also, he just had it chipped a few days ago (apr 2nd hand) and when he got it chipped, he said it acted really funny. Come to find out, the "really funny" was misfires happening quite a lot. Anyway, here are the fault codes that showed up in the engine control module. Any help diagnosing these is much appreciated!

Address 01: Engine
Controller: 4B0 906 018 P
Component: 1.8L R4/5VT G 0008
Coding: 07201
Shop #: WSC 06335
9 Faults Found:
16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low
P0102 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low

BTW, it's a 2000 A4 1.8T

I know the MAF fault is probably related to the rich/lean faults, or the Lambda sensor fault could be related to these two also. I am mostly worried about the misfires. They were happening quite frequently. I suggested coil packs at first, but it seems to be doing it on all cyclinders and only started when he chipped it. Now, after reading up a little more, I think it might be the spark plugs.

Any suggestions as to which spark plugs to use for a APR chipped 1.8t?
Thanx

I am not sure. If your friend had the chip installed then he should take the car back to the people that installed it.
Since the problems only seem to have started AFTER the chip install, my guess is that the chip is not set up properly for the 1.8t. Phone APR and see if vag-com is compatible.

Just FYI,
He's got it mainly sorted now, turns out that the majority of the problems were coming from cheap spark plugs (he didn't get the right kind and as soon as he chipped it, it got much worse). He replaced those and all the misfires went away. He has a bad MAF, so he will be getting that replaced along with the before cat O2 sensor and that should clear up the majority of the other codes. Thanks for the help!
