jerks when ecelerating

i have a 2000 A4 1.9TDI with 130,000 an i,ve been having problems with loss of power. its been happening quite a lot lately also it very jerky when im excelerating almost like im taping the brakes on an off as i go.
If i turn the engin off an on again it goses awayfor a while?

Ive recently had the air flow meter changed and the fuel fillter to try an solve it but no luck.

any ideas would be appreciated.

Check the following:

Firstly sounds like a faulty Coil Pack. When mine went I got a similar feeling but with many other odd effects.

Secondly check your MAF is ok, maybe needs a clean or a new one

Thirdly check your breaks.

If you have VAG-com it'll probably help narrowing the problem down.

Its a diesel so no coil packs
