Hi, ive just picked up my a4 today and i think it seems to run a little cold?

The water temp gauge sits at the 70 to 75 degree mark.......... other cars ive had seem to sit at round 85-90?

anyone else's similar?

cheers

rob

should read bang on 90 may have dodgy temp sensor or thermostat stuck.....

Mine also sits around 75, it only ever gets to 90 when towing on the motorway.

Operating temp is 80, and will only be seen on a long run.

I reckon your thermostat may be duff..............
When I bought my last car (80 TDi Avant) that too had a temp gauge that never budged from 75ish in the first 6 months that I owned it.I couldn't believe how crap the heat output was from the dash vents etc until someone said that if the thermostat was faulty it could cause a low temp gauge reading?
I replaced it and immediately the heater became hot and gauge temp showed 90 degrees...if memory serves me right the thermostat that went in had an opening temp marked on it of 87 celsius , which would confirm that a reading of 90 on the gauge should be about right?
My A4 runs at 90 , never more , never less, the only thing that does alter is the oil temp, it goes up slightly when towing my little Eriba caravan......

I concur with 90 degree's. Absolutely bang on all the time!
