okay bit of a story, cars a '98 s reg a4tdi with ahu engine. the bulbs had blown behind the heater controls so without thinking bout the fact the controls pull off i dismantled the area around the controls and took them apart. since doing this the heaters have never worked on any setting, im quite sure the controls were put back together in the right order but there's no life from them at all, does anyone have a picture of the correct order the components go in? can anyone else think of the cause of the problem?

cheers

anybody? winters coming so this needs to be sorted, does anyone know where i could get a diagram showing the components and there order?

Is the car climate control or manual rotary knobs for the heating. If its manual then you might have detached the control cable for setting the heat level from the knob so you have no control.

ok finally went back to the audi yesterday. bowden cables are attached fine. have found if you dismantle the switch so you can get at the contacts if you put a scredriver across the two parts circled then the fan comes to life,

does this mean there is a problem internally with the switch or that the heater resistor pack could be playing up? does anyone have a clear picture of how the heater control components go together as there seems to be a variation with the way some parts can be assembled
