HELP!!! My drivers side door is being silly!

Hiya! Just recently become a 1st time Audi owner!!! Now be disappointed by my drivers side door, which when its open it doesn't register on my open door map, my courtesy lights (the red light at the bottom on the door) don't come on, and when I have my lights on and get out leaving them on it doesn't beep to tell me! And being a girl I want my car perfect. Any ideas on how this can be sorted or what actually wrong with it!?

can you give details of car ?
IE b5 b6 b7
alot of the b6 b7 have a common problem in the harness between door and car
pull the rubber boot back and check for broken wires
there thin wires and its hard to tell what 1 has broke so have a good look

B6 then
check the wireing from door to car as above
could be water in the cc unit under the pass seat check the floor to see if its wet
