Thread: HELP!!!! Heater problems

Hi i bought a A3 the other day its a A3 1.8T and has a all S3 bits on it, It is a 1998 and the in car heater is very weak?
When you rev the car above 2000rpm it gets a little warm but on idle it goes stone cold i have changed the termostat and bled the system and still its the same i have also done a head gasget check and all is ok on that side of things?
I dont know what else it could be, it has the digatal climate control and i dont know if that is the right 1 for the car as my friends one witch is the same model and age has the non digital ones????

1st off check the heater pipes are they hot ?
could be a few things
CTS
heater core
motor flaps
or may just need bleeding some can be fukkers to bleed
but id check all hoses are geting hot top an bottom rad and 2 that go to heater
wheres your temp needle sat at

well with the new thermostat its reading about 80 then on idle goes to 90 then fan cuts in??

it should run at 90 all day long at temp
read codes with vcds could be the cts
