Can anyone recommend a car insurance company for my wife and i?
We have a car each and seperate policies with different companies. I want to know if we can save money by having a joint policy, forget what the correct term is for this but you know what i mean!!

Wouldn't touch the Admiral group (Admiral, Bell, Diamond, Elephant) with a very VERY long bargepole had a few dealings with them and they are an absolute shower of ****!

Give Sky a shout as they have provided excellent quotes and decent cover as well
 
We've got both of our cars with Admiral on a multi-car policy (and have had for nearly 3 years) and they've always been very professional and helpful. I got a load of quotes for insuring them separately when we bought the S4 but they still offered the best value IMO.

I tried a few specialists: Chris Knott, Sky, Green Light, Adrian Flux and they wanted silly money to insure a modded S4.
 
We have five cars with Admiral, just changed from Zurich. Saved over 2k (bearing in mind the cars insured include three high performance Audis). Exceptional service so far!
 
I always use Admiral or Elephant. Cheapest for me by far. One claim and no real problems.... apart from them trying to claim that even though a car hit me side on at the rear that the accident was only responsible for the rear arch being bent and not the rear wheel/axle. They fixed it all in the end but needed a bit of persuading.

I also found that it was cheaper to insure each car under it's own policy rather than on a multicar policy. Although I think you have to do each one under a different name.

Here's a thread that I posted a while back about savings that I made when doing an online elephant/admiral quote. Judging by the huge response to it, everyone obviously found it really helpful :lmfao:

I've found the exact opposite. Insuring the cars separately came out a lot more expensive than having them both on a multi-car policy. :think:

To be honest, what you found does make sense. I was a little surprised when it worked out cheaper doing them seperately, and so was the admiral quotes guy on the other end of the phone!
 
I'm thinking that if you have 2 cars under 2 different policies, you and your other half for instance, then you can shop around and get the best deal for both, but if you have a third car lest say, then the multicar policy would come into it's own, as you don't need a 3rd set of NCB.
But by sticking with the same insurance company for all your cars, are you not restricting yourself to discounts on their(Admiral for instance) insurance premiums?

Probably but no one else can even come close. It's about £200 a year cheaper having our TDI and S4 on Admiral's multi-car than insuring them separately.
 
Directline do a 10% discount on the most expensive policy if you have two or more at the same address, plus theres a discount if you book online and theres another offer they have running at the moment with 52 days free cover, Ive been with them for years no problems.

(though Ive never had to claim *touch wood*)
 
Admiral Multi car policy, although if you read their small print it does state that its not always a definite that the multi car will work out cheaper than doing them seperately, might be worth checking this while quoting, you may be surprised.
