I've just worked out that for me to run my A4 1.8 15,000 miles a year costs £10 a day!!!!
Fuel: £1704 (90 miles for £10)
MOT: £40
Insurance: £1370 (ouch!)
Tax: £160 (might be £155?)
Service: £225 (1.5 times a year if 15k miles a year by audi specialist)
Wheels: £50 (part worns at £25 each!, roughly 2 a year)
That makes £3549 a year. I can't believe it!!! I am 21 a student and earning £100 a week of which £70 goes to my car.
I really don't know whether to sell up and get a small / family car. The insurance on a 2001 1.2 16v Clio is only £730 a year (fully comp and 1 speeding /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif) and so I could save £1300 a year, making it £6 a day instead.
Really don't know what to do?! It's nice to have my A4 but can't afford it!
I could get a tdi and save £676 a year on fuel and maybe £100 on insurance.
Or I could just get for the same price as my car a smaller car with 20k miles on it.
The only thing I can think of is loosing the aircon, but then i'd save £70 a year on regassing and it ain't even hot! Where is summer come to think of it?
I know it is nice to have an audi, but everything's so ****** expensive for it!
What should I do!!!!???? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
