They normally slip more when hot, put the car in 4th at about 20mph and put your foot down on the throttle, if the engine speed rises but the vehicle speed does not, the clutch is gone.
al giv it a try thanks. i thort the clutch had gone so i parked it up. it was sliping now and then in gears 3 and 4. but the other day i took it for a drive and not a problem and the same today not a hicker. could oil be geting onto the clutch plates from the engine giving it the slip?
