I agree with you to a certain extent, with the way fuel prices are at the moment, there is a market for an economical sports car, I think Audi will sell loads of these, and some of us will pick up a nice used example a few years down the line and remap them to 200bhp+ and it will be as quick as the 2.0T petrol models if not quicker!
 
CO2 emissions of a mere 139-140 g/km. It's been regarded as one of the greenest sports cars today.
