FTO Mivec

A friend of mine is thinking about getting one of these.
Has anyone any experience of them,reliability,performance,economy anything good or bad.

Look like they should be quicker than they are and thebay is a bit cramped to work in but that's about the only faults. Friend of mine had a rare bright yellow Mivec manual. The 2litre V6 has a reasonable amount of get up and go about it and is fairly torquey. I like them personally.

I'm sure they were never meant has a UK car but was imported because they were popular all the ones i saw when working at a Mitsubishi specialist garage was that the paint work was allways peeling off and the wheels were rusty.
Mechanical wise the all the one i saw was just services (good sign i suppose).

Your right they do look fast.
How does the tiptronic compare to the manual?

My cousin has one and as Jo says they do look faster than they go, he constantly has probs with them, but they do look pretty cool....majority are autos and all are imports and personally i would steer clear from imports, but you can get something decent....
