Heads-up display GPS with Virtual Cable

Heads-up display GPS with Virtual Cable
Two things plague GPS users: being forced to deal with dubious direction vocalizations and the amount of time spent looking at the screen when you should be paying attention to the road. MVS is developing a solution and it's likely the most revolutionary concept to date.
The system is comprised of a series of mirrors that project a three-dimensional line onto the windshield giving drivers a heads-up display of their intended path of travel. The Virtual Cable shown above the top of the windscreen is usable at night and seems to integrate cleanly into the surrounding environment, allowing users to focus on the road and simply use their peripheral vision to guide them.

Interesting, however it is potentially even more distracting than a small screen.

I reckon most people will be constantly looking at that line above their head to try and see when they're supposed to turn - and not looking ahead.

oooh I'm not so sure that I like that. It looks like you get given the directions a bit late. I trust there is audio that comes with that? Clever though and probably will be excellent as time goes on. Just will take a bit of getting used to.

The idea is good - but not sure if I like the position of it though ! think it needs working on a bit - would prefer to see the mirror image from my trusty Tom Tom projected on the window screen though !

I'm sure there were some guys at mp3car.com who've done home-brew HUDs for their Car-PCs... Unfortunately TomTom is out in that case (why they don't do a PC port the big man upstairs only knows - it'd cost them pennies to do so surely ROI wouldn't be an issue!); but various other packages are about and not far off as good.

    Regards,

    Rob.
The truth they're trying to keep from you is that IPv6 has nothing to do with address space; we're actually running out of full stops.
