I got my letter through today, so I sent them one of mine back....

Iain,

Thanks for sending the information on “ClubClass” through the post today.

We still own the vehicle **** ***, and its going strong now, passing 110k, being serviced as needed, by an independent garage specialising in Audi/VW/Seat. Audi has a great product unsupported by servicing I am afraid.

We took the decision to move away from Audi for servicing after poor and perceived expensive service by Edinburgh Audi. A series of unreturned calls and failed parts orders confirmed my decision. Also looking at the prices and savings, the amount is approx 25-30% supporting my impression that it is too expensive in the first place. Curiously ClubClass membership fee’s are not mentioned... Servicing costs are a considerable factor for me doing 20k+ p.a.

Typically:
Ordering a drivers door mirror, Andrea went in to Edinburgh Audi, sat with the technician who brought details up on the screen about our car. The mirror housing needed painting, which she was told, would take over a week. On collecting (Andrea had to call to see if it was there and it was and had been for a few days), she went in and it was the incorrect colour. Hadwins in Cumbria took this on by phone and delivered the part in two days and fitted it for free whilst I was down there.

We also own a Mercedes and the attention to detail they provide at Sighthill leaves Edinburgh Audi with an awful lot to be desired. (I am currently working on a project with “Mercedes Benz World” at Brooklands, based around “The Customer Experience” and they would leave you for dead).

We are considering changing this vehicle in 2008. Whilst Edinburgh Audi does have a good selection of vehicles, I believe the sales function is not matched by Parts and Service. I may buy from there but would not consider servicing the vehicle with Edinburgh Audi.

I would travel for the right vehicle I would purchase. Our Audi came from Grimsby and one that I am currently interested in is in Plymouth.

I do appreciate that there must be many satisfied customers, I can only speak for myself here.

I would be interested in your response to this letter.

Rick Harrison.

Unsuprisingly I dont expect a reply, unless it it to do with a completely different unconnected matter..!

i think u should make a template, would love to send that to leicester audi

What's Clubclass?

Camberley/Basingstoke Audi have a scheme called Allegiance for drivers of older cars which gives you 10% off parts & servicing, plus invites to a free summer and winter checkup where they check your car and put the hard sell on to get you to spend money in their service dept!

I've only used it to get 10% off the dealer only parts I've needed.

Great letter, BTW.

ive heard edinburgh audi isnt too hot. When i was looking for an S3 aprivate garage told me to stay away, an that they took their auids up to Perth audi!

I'd agree with the Hadwins comment - they are my local dealer. I've had good service off them for quite a few years.....

What is Club class?

ClubClass is a promo to try and get you to pay for membership to get you cheaper servicing though my letter doesnt say how much it is to join!

Service savings are approx £40-60, so if the joining fee is £100 or something then they are quids in as usual.....

Feel free to cut and paste the letter...

It must be a local initiative to drum up business.

I use Star Performance for all of mine though...

Unsuprisingly, no reply to my mail... Audi Service as underwhelming as usual...
