Hi folks wondered if anyone can help with my problem

I am trying to load driver from http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

The VCP one but when i open file with RAR it does not have install added to list of files

Am i missing something here?

Needing the driver to work with VAG.com lead that bought off ebay

Cheers

Steve

hi mate, when uve extracted its got the driver files without the install.

when you in to folder you'll see 2 files

ftdibus.inf
ftdiport.inf

right click the first one and ull see 'install' click it. do that with the 2nd file and then plug in the vagcom lead, it should pick it up.

if it doesnt and asks for drivers then follow it all the way and it searches direct it to the folder and it should pick up the driver files and install.

had to do something similiar to this for a chip programmer i got.

hoep it helps u out.

Extract the downloaded folder.

When you connect the lead to the computer the new hardware wizard box will appear
*Select “no not at this time”

Then select the option to
*“Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)”

*Select "Search for the best driver in these locations" and enter the file path in the combo-box for the extracted folder “CDM 2.02.04 WHQL Certified” or browse to it by clicking the browse button. Once the file path has been entered in the box, click next to proceed.

This should install the drivers
