oil pressue gauge reading?

As some of you are aware i have not had my 1.8T sport long and still finding things out about the car.

Dont know if this is normal or not but i have noticed that the gauge seems to take a good 5 plus miles before it starts to read anything and then it only just goes above the '60' mark. Normally just on the first line above that.

Is this where they normally sit?
