Does it stop you (if you happened to be offered) buying copied DVD's for a couple of quid instead of ten to fifteen quid?

Its a **** advert as well as a stupid message, most people would more than likely ask him where he got the dvds rather than pour scorn on him.

Its also a bit random, why now does it appear- who gives a toss about fake dvd's?

We all have the internet anyway if we wanted to we could make our own knock off nigel dvds in a matter of minutes.

And ofcourse there's the same argument that was Cd's raised years back, why do we pay £15 when other countries pay less. Why do we pay £15 when it costs a few quid to produce the whole product. We pay that because they're money grabbing bat stewards. And i'm not talking about the artists either Simon Cowel

Exactly, I don't even bother paying a couple of quid; just get a hold of the torrent and burn my own! Not that I watch films all that often though....

As for the ad, I think its a bit pointless really, who gives a ****? 'Knock-off Nigels' will probably think its pretty funny...

I've not paid full price for a CD or DVD for years. There are plenty of site you can buy them from and pay half to a fraction of the cost. Is £8 for a CD really that much? We all choose to run nice cars with thirsty and expensive habits yet some people still bitch about paying a few quid for someone's beautifully crafted work. Get a grip.

I only buy originals as Im foo king loaded who is this nigel bloke ?

I buy knockoff dvds but doesnt it **** you off when u buy 1 you have been waiting to watch it for ages you put it on and either your dvd doesnt play it, or the copy is toppa but you need to put your telly up full blast to hear it, or you get random amount of heads popping up and down on your screen when they are in the cinema god it pissess me off! Watched that film redline yesterday some good cars but by god it was *****!

in theory they arent losing any money out of me because i wouldnt be intending on purchasing a dvd in the first place......

Im a bit weird in that I like to get the originals, same with CDs I dont have any ethical reasons for not buying copies.... if someone lends me one I would still watch it. I just like to have the originals  Its like with CDs as soon as I get them I convert them to MP3 but I still like to have the proper case and booklet etc

Same here silv. I'm also one of the dying breed that seems to listen to CDs on a hifi (I'm a minor hifi-head) rather than PC or MP3 player. Plus I love the way shelves of CDs look, with all the different colour spines lined up!

Who is this Nigel ?

And dont forget the more you lot steal music dvds ect the more sh-t like X factor the rest of us true music lovers will have to put up with.

Pay the £8.99 and put that **** Cowell out of buisness otherwise I bet the next series of X factor will have someone with tourettes trying to sing something

Sod cd's and dvd's, you want expensive try buying dj vinyl! £5.99 for 1 track, now thats not exactly cheap!

I used to Dj for a living and vinyl ****** all over digital but who the f--k is this nigel

Same here. If someone burns me a copy of a CD to listen to, and I like, I buy my own original copy. Not every recording artist is earning mega-millions. There's a lot of great talent out there that has to rely on promoting their albums in 50-seat venues like the Maidstone Soul Cafe, and this is their livelihood we're talking about.

whats with all the chinese people going around selling knock off dvd's on every industrial estate! one of them where i live walked into the local dvd rental shop and offered his dvd's and then the owner knocked him out and then called the police and sat on him till they arrived!!
I don't see a problem with downloading things for your personal use as things get shown on tv eventually anyways. but i don't agree with people doing it to make money off it! especially when the discs only cost about 22p each!

they are everywhere mate, basically they sell these DVDs to pay off debts they owe to organised criminals.

mate try the Music and Video Exchange they have shops in Camden, Greenwich and Portabello Road. You can pick up a lot of bargains but you really have to hunt, what i do is take all my old vinyl that I dont listen to anymore and trade them in for newer stuff, they get a lot of unwanted DJ promos etc they also do DVDs and CDs.

At long last I know who Nigel is ( cheers voorhees )
Regarding chinese blokes going round pubs ect they are normally if the government can be trusted tied in with the triads, I have only ever watched one knock of dvd and it was so bad I have never bothered again, plus like others have said I like the look and feel of a original dvd or cd and if its only a difference of £5 then i'll stick to the originals

A mate of mine bagged four dodgy pornos for a tenner off of an Oriental gentleman in the pub the other week. Apparently he's pretty chuffed with the deal.

Surely thats what the internet is for tho, free porn?

the wireman at my work always seems to buy about 10 or more porn dvd's (he says there for his neighbour! that old chestnut) when ever the chinese lady comes round so she lets him try out other dvds to see if they are any good then he brings it to me and if its any good i copy it and then he gives it back to her the next time she comes in and says its no good

I like it, pirating off the piraters, its not like she can tell the police on you. :)

Seriously though, I dont buy knock offs, as people said above I like the feel of the original. Plus the prices we can get stuff in the UK for now has dropped loads with the likes of Play.com and CD WOW.

That advet is just plain ***** though, like anyones gonna come up to you in the pub with a guitar and start singing at you because you copied some DVDs. Although it would probably stop me if they did. :)

You should try Rane Serato, could change your opinion... fuses the two technologies together faultlessly.
