With the torrential rain we have had here it's caused a lot of rubbish from in my parents chimney to come down the flu, blocking it off. Luckily they have a Carbon Monoxide alarm and they got woke up at about 2am yesterday.
The fire had backed up and the smoke (Open coal fire by the way) had started to billow out into the kitchen.
If they had not had the alarm it could have been curtains, just a post for anyone else that has a open fire to make sure the flu is clear.
