Tyre Sizes Help Needed???

I have some 235 40 18 size tyres at the moment and was wondering whether 225 40 18 would fit my Rstt.

I have no idea about tyre sizes and am i right in thinking the 225 number is the width therefore it would fit but be slightly stretched across the alloy.

225/40/18 is actually the right size for a standard 18" rim. Depends on the rim though as they are also available in different widths. A cm either way is not going to cause any problems though, unless its a wide rim and already stretching the tyre.
