Electric supercharger

I have gotten an e-mail response from North End Tuning regarding a supercharger for my audi . They want to sell me a custom kit for it. Have you heared anything about this company? wwwelectricchargerscom
 
Hmm, reminds me of those dodgy electric 'turbos' from the 90's. Personally I'd steer well clear of anything like that. Companies that promise big gains for small costs are usually full of it...
 
the electric superchargers are basically little fans blowing into your intake, you will not see any proper gains.
 
haha like the 5p resistors for sale on ebay - "superchips garunteed 15bhp!!"
 
i believe they dont offer much boost and actually become a restriction at full throttle in some cases as the induction needed is more than the fan produces. just what i read somewhere!
 
Yes all of the above are correct.

Absolute con - does nothing but create a restriction in your intake.

Better off with some furry dice, they'll offer a better performance gain.
 
The power these things would draw from the battery to turn fast enough to supply enough flow to the engine on WOT would kill the alternator pretty fast.
