    One Step Closer To 1000rwhp

    (EDIT
First of all...I know its not an Audi...but with you guys and gals being the cool and open minded car enthusiast that you are...I thought you would be interested in my Mustang project.
Second...I think its very cool that we are able to share our ideas and motoring experiences...regardless of where we live or what we drive/own.
I always look forward to seeing what you guys have going on and enjoy your perspective verses what I see over here on the local forums.)

I'm somewhat excited...I now have almost all the components to finish this engine build with the goal of 1000 rear wheel hp.

After almost 8 weeks of waiting...my custom made pistons have finally arrived.

Everything is now at the machine shop to be balanced and get all the final machining done.

Should have the long block assembled by the end of this month.

This engine build has been in the works for almost a year now.

    Piston info..

    Custom Ross Nitrous Pistons
Rated up to 2800 hp with turbo/supercharger
Rated to 2500 hp with nitrous.

    Piston diameter: 4.125"
    Weight: 370 grams.

    The Crankshaft

    Forged 4340 alloy steel
    4" stroke.

    The Block

    World Products after market block.
    High Density/high carbon, cast iron.
    Rated up to 2200+ hp
Capable of supporting up to 480 cubic inches of displacement.

Will be 427 cubic inches (7 liters) with the 4" stroke crank and 4.125" bore/pistons.

Will be using a set of Trick Flow Specialties Twisted Wedge heads
    Intake runner volume=205cc
    Intake cfm @ .600" valve lift = 315cfm
    Exhaust cfm @ .600" valve lift = 230 cfm

Wont be using any turbos or supercharger on this engine.

    Its a nitrous engine.
Will have two stages of nitrous.
300hp of nitrous on the first stage and probably another 200-250 hp on the second stage.

I'll take the "Fast N Furious" commit as a joke, because we all know and agree that movie was a total load of crap.
To even imply that my car resembles anything remotely close to the crap in that movie is a gross display of a lack of knowledge of what my car and those like it are about.

My car is an actual race car which is raced in several sanctioning bodies to include
    http://www.fasteststreetcar.com/schedule.php
    http://www.nmraracing.com/schedule.p...eedaac7a39f715
    http://www.oscaracing.com/osca/index.htm

BTW...Its not a "2 stage nitrous" so to speak...

Its actually two separate nitrous kits that are operated independently of each other.
The first kit (aka stage) comes on when the trans-break is released (at the very start of the race) and the second kit is on an adjustable timer, set to come on at a predetermined time delay, to supplement the first kit.
In my case...Kit one = 300hp and kit two = ~250hp, thus spraying a total of ~500-550 hp worth of nitrous during the pass down the track.

The idea is to spray as much as possible as soon as possible, within the traction limits of the car and race track.
Much in the same manor that a "progressive boost controller" is used on high hp turbo cars to ramp up the amount of boost over a time line, thus applying the maximum amount of power to the tires with respect to available traction, as the car goes down the track.

Thanks for the complaments. It means alot as I have put my heart and soul into this project for the last couple of years.

And yes...the car is street legal. The class that I race in requires that the car be "street legal" with current tags and proof of insurance. All the lights, brakes, horn, and etc. have to be in working order.

The only non legal aspects of the class are that the cars do not have to comply with emissions standards and we are allowed to use a non street legal racing slick/tire...but the tire size is limited to 10.5" wide x 30" tall, which makes things intersting when it comes to trying to apply ~1000 hp to the pavement.

Thats the way it should be I have ultimate respect for people that build cars like this and keep it street legal. Or build show quality custom cars and have them as an everyday car. Seeing cars carted about on the back of trucks is crap!
