private number plate transfer ?

my mate has a private number plate that i am buying,to put on my car, what is the procedures to do this transfer fees cost dvla ?what else , and my mate will put his original plate on his car?

to swap it to your car from his will cost £80 iirc, he will however need to wait till the docs arrive to put his original plates back on, same for you too

You'll need form V317, the V5C from both cars, MOT certificates for both cars (if required) and the road fund license discs.
If you haven't got the V5C, you need V62
