A few people have complained about Daniel Craig being cast as the new Bond, after seeing Layer Cake (good film) I reckon he would be pretty good... but who do people think was the best Bond?

I still say Connery simply because of the way he 'handled' his female co-stars...

PS I have left out George Lazenby as he only did the one film

Roger Moore for me.

Daniel Craig will prove to be the best though I reckon.

Hes from Chester by the way.

The worst has got to be Pierce Brosnan, too smug for my liking.

I think Connery is by far the best Bond so far, I dont understand why people are slatting Daniel Craig, give the guy a chance, see the film then decide, apparently at least looks wise he is the closest to how Bond was decribed in the books

It's a tough one. Connery is Scottish, so that's him out of the window. Moore was far too comical to be taken seriously. For me it comes down to Dalton and Brosnan.

Dalton has the advantage that he actually looks like he'd kill someone and, after all, Bond is an assassin.

Brosnan however has the class.

For me, class wins every time.

he will never be the best bond,he wouldn't come close to sean connery or roger moore.

I think bias may come into it depending on which "era" you became a bond fan. I only started really watching bond when Roger Moore was Bond, so I'm inclined to like him more. SC was "before my time", and TD and PB and DC are now pretenders to the throne.

I agree there as when I was a kid Roger was Bond so i allways prefered him but as I got older and saw the older films, Roger seemed like an old man in flares in comparison to Connery..

I liked roger more because he was in the films when i was a little boy, i remember him better.

Connery was the hardest/coldest, and probably the best classic spy, but as with A4Quattro, I prefer Moore as he was in my favourite era of Bond.

Live And Let Die is my favourite Bond anyway, mainly due to the boats and soundtrack :)

Brosnan revived it, brought it back to life. He was smug, but wouldn't you be if you were that cool.

Ok, Ok, if you won't let me vote for Mr Lazenby, then I'll have to vote for Connery.

Having said that my favourite movie is The Spy Who Love Me.

good dismissal!! :) :) :)

Roger is too "dandyish" I think thats the best way to describe him, see connery would smack his b*tch up (not that I condone such behavior) if he had to and then give her one once she has told him where the microchip is. That is what Bond is all about.

got to say overall best Bond is and always was Sean Connery and I'm only old enough to have seen Roger Moore in cinemas, too 70s

favourite film is OHMSS and a great bond IMO was George Lazenby

no one's gone for David Niven, in original Casino Royale

isn't that's the "Bond" Daniel Craig has to beat??

Got to be Connery Innit.

They do reckon though after slatting him that the new chappie is supossed to be very good and the papers now reckon he will be the best Bond james bond ever

moonraker was excellent and view to a kill was also really good.

Tomorrow Never Dies = good

he mite be good no doubt but no way will he be the best. im struggling between SC an RM, can't really put 1 above the other, so both 1st, then 2nd peirce brosnan.

You missed George Lazenby and David Niven, albeit they only did one film each and the David Niven film was a spoof!

Brosnan for me,but it could just be timing.
His performances co-incided with more 'believable' Bond storylines, where he didn't come out of fights without a scratch or any creases in his suit.

I think Craig is an excellent choice.

i would of liked to see clive owen as bond

Ditto Re: Clive Owen, think he really 'looks' the part if that makes sense. Best Bond was without a doubt Connery imo, and Thunderball the best film. 'Disco Volante' was the coolest villains toy, the shark pool, that film had it all, and best of all-Domino. My God she was unbelievable!

Claudine Auger (Domino), what a woman, takes the title from Honey Ryder any day in my book, I may have just kicked off a whole new debate here!
