speed limit reductions. Has to be an early april fool!!!

dont think this will ever happen ....agree with madvw she must be never in a hurry or she is 70 years old and drives a morris minor

:wtf: these are the people we elect to run our country???

How could 43mph even be construed as a safe speed for a motorway, everyone would be fally to sleep and getting run over by trucks.

Why don't all the do-gooders just get the hell out of our country and stop destroying it.

If these idiots keep all these stupid new rules coming then the only place in the world left to be truly free to do what you know and trust to be right will be Iraq.

When will someone in power stand up and say "enough is enough - the nanny state time is over" and make the citizens have more say rather than idiots who live in their own private idaho's.

Leave things that work as they are and make more effort to deal with the true problems, like if people commit a seriouse crime then they stay in prison for a long time end of, or if kids are unruly then they get a whallop enough with all this european rights and human rights rubbish.....how about we go back to simple common sense laws.

Rant over.

So they're doing this because it means they won't have to change the signage? Is that really the correct methodology for defining the strategy for our transport system?
43mph on motorways = every motorway journey will take twice as long (given most people cruise at 80mph = twice as many vehicles on motorways at any one time. Yes that'll work.
I think I'll send the stupid cow a polite email. I suggest everyone does the same. See if we can crash parliaments server.

oh yes lots of stop start driving as well. About as bright an idea as dumming down roundabouts with traffic lights for the idiots who have no idea how a roundabout works.
Jamming up the whole roundabout so changing lanes is impossible, result = morons staying in the outside lane to go all the way round = accident. It's not exactly rocket science.

ive just read her home page and copied this from it

As a keen cyclist, she worked on Routes for People with Sustrans (developing a Welsh network of cycle paths including the coastal development)

......explains alot she wants us to go that slow that she would be able to overtake us on her ****** bike

Ok - these people work for us, yes? to reflect the view of the people? so we are entitiled to express our views directly to her...

So here's her email address at the houses of parliament, in case you wish to express your view directly!

griffithn@parliament.uk

and the rest of her contact details, including phone numbers, are available from the guardian website:

I'm lovin' that - you know one of the spiders is gonna scam her mail address now and start sending her Viagra/Cialis emails.... LOL!!!!

OK, I could've posted plenty of serious, well constructed opinions on this ridiculous (and politically suicidal) idea (a number of them put well enough already); but I'm guessing you're all thinking along the same lines already...

So I'll just say this:

If I was that ugly I'd be campaigning for 200mph speed limits and all-round limo-black tints to be legal...

Rob.

If I may jump in...

That's the $64,000 question...

There are only two simple and comprehensive answers to that (all the others aren't particularly effective and require massive effort (more than simply deleting the mail and trying not to let it get to you))...

1) Don't have an email address, or have one and don't ever tell anyone what it is.

2) Use FactionOne's Internet Security 2007:

Seriously though; I've tried all kinds of anti-spam measures, and at best they're only partially effective, and for a matter of days or a couple of weeks; then it all starts finding ways through again; so I just delete it and try to ignore it now.

Rob.
