Encouraging news today:
Firstly, he has been downgraded from "Serious" to "Stable", and moved from ICU to "High-Dependency.
Secondly, Captain Slow has spoken to him, and is convinced that the Hamster he knows and loves is pretty much intact. Ok, as a classically-trained musician and journalist, he's probably not the best person to make medical prognoses, but I'd rather hear him saying that than not.
Thirdly, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance donations have soared to £50,000 in two days.
Finally, JC says the only outward sign of injury is a black eye.
