Cosworth Killer

Sounds lovely

Bit of an uneventful and non-conclusive piece of footage though TBH.

Tell the cameraman...! I was just driving and to be fair it was really wet so I couldn't do much without wrapping it, plus i sold it the next day. Didn't really want to damage it in any way.

Just wish I had the camcorder when I hit 178mph

Didn't realise it was actually you in that footage TBH dude.

Had this round my house last week for a spin,..................you wouldn't have wanted to take THAT Cosworth on :beerchug:

Specs?
TBH a tuned cossie is good, but not in the same league as a tuned Sup.

LOL, ever seen the Jeremy Clarkson video 'At Full Throttle'?

The one where they lined up all the fastest Escort Cosworths in the country from all the Ford tuning companies and blasted them down a runway?.................this is the one that won

It's since been rebuilt and upgraded. The fancy Swedish gearbox blew up, so while this gets rebuilt he's running a standard box and a RR'd 408bhp. It'll run over 550bhp (genuine) when on the new box.

Trick management and anti-lag helps too :bye:

Nice 'proper end drive'

The tuning company in my village builds their own Canonball Europe cars (they help run the events), they're mainly into RX7's, but one of the workers has this 550bhp toy (that's me BTW)......

And they also get this 851bhp single turbo one over from Germany for work (star of Gettaway In Stockholm 2).............

gotta love both of them, although I do tend to love the escworth more due to the styling.

I went to look at a supra a couple of years ago, considered buying one, the inside is really dated, i know these went back to something like 1993, but they still look like no thought was ever put to the interior at all, obviously more thought was on engine and handling. That said, it was only the insurance that really put me off getting one.

Hopefully i'm getting the chance to drive my mates new skyline soon, R33 GTR V-Spec, running around 460bhp.... should be fun:scared2: , and i'll deffo get some pics up of that outing.

My god, the size of that turbo is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge

Don't agree one bit, the supra interior is miles better than any other car of its class and age, the skyline interior looks like its been lifter straight out of a 1980's nissan bluebird. The supra's dash comes right around you and if you say no thought was put into it, you're a bit mistaken.

When the Toyota engineers went to work on that mkiv supra they started from the ground up and nothing went un-modified, for example, the carpet was made from hollow fibres instead of the usual solid ones to save weight.

And the build quality is astounding, one of my interior switches had lost its illumination so i took it out only to find that the illumination bulb was actually replaceable seperately and cost 12p from maplins.
What other car can that be done in?? none I know of, I had a Sapphire cosworth and when my foglight switch illumination packed up i had to buy a whole new switch, and that was more than 12p!

nothing against em, they're quality just in different classes. The escort was a redesigned family car, the supra was a sports car from the start.

although i think 1000 bhp in an escort would be interesting

Very probably, but my point was that you wouldn't be able to 'kill' THIS Cossie ;)

Hence the 'stock looking' quote

Agree, excellent footage ;)

I just love how the Supra does this massive burn out. Then the S4/RS4 just toddles up to the line cool as you like. Then "WHAAAMMMMYYY!!!!" see ya, gotta love the power of Quattro getting every bit of that power down.

yeah i agree as well, that sup sounded like he was spinning all the way thru 1st and 2nd, not a great start at all.
