I'm famous - just made front page of my local paper.

Just think all those birds scattering there feathers all over the place, you laughing your head off with your mouth wide open like a mentalist, you might have swallowed a swan or a asda trolley and youd be none the wiser.

If you did swallow the swan and not the trolley you might catch bird flu and then you gonna be on the front pages of everything, id go see your vicar and see how many hail marys you need to say not to catch the flu or prosecution for theft of a asda trolley

I don't think animal cruelty is a laughing matter to be honest!

For those who don't you know exaclty where to go. I'm afraid to even say what i think to avoid spoiling this thread, by starting the typical audi sport slanging match.

Who wouldn't want to have some fun when you have a V6 2.5L 240hp jet boat to play with.

for the guys on this forum who still have a sense of humour, not your average anorak. i could have sworn they were seagulls. lol.

i paid 14k for it in August last year, then spent about 1k on servicing and a new impellor. £450 on insurance with water skiier cover. Life jackets, ringos, wake board, ski rope, automatic fire extinguishers etc etc. I didnt realise how much it all adds up, i just thought i could drop it in the water and go.

Plus it uses 11 gallons of fuel an hour and costs £150 to fill up with Unleaded, you also need to fill oil on every use, but it mixes it automatically. It's not something i'm going to keep for too long, just going to have fun this summer.

It is possible to appreciate the boat (which I do) and still think you were behaving stupidly (which I also do).

As for a slanging match, you have to remember that you invited peoples' comments by posting the thread in the first place. Surely you must have realised that some of the responses would be critical as well as complimentary?

of course i did JP, the newpaper article is not exactly correct and when are they ever. I was the one who was there. I'm pretty sure if i was charging at the geese i could have hit one easily, but that was never going to happen.

i have pets of my own would never intentionally harm and living creature, what bird do you know that will just stay in the same place and not move if you walk up to it? We were on the boat travelling along came round the point of the Island and the birds were ahead, they all flew off, from the shore it probably looked like we were closer to them than we really were, have you ever seen 2 planes in the sky that look like they are going to hit each other when infact they are nowhere near. That's the siuation here, i've been made to look irresponsible. Its just that the twats with their binoculars were clearly upset that one minute they were having a lovely boring afternoon watching birds in their huts and the next they were all gone. Birds can fly so how anyone thinks my boat can fly is out of their minds, and i certainly wasnt terrorising the Geese.

I was lucky learnt a lesson and that's the end of the story. It even say's they are going to put signs up which they dont have or a perimeter of bouys. Plus i dont know who the other boat was either, so i can only assume the same happened to them.

I'm innocent.

Fair comment.

Mind you, if I'd shelled out £14k on a boat, I'd be pretty disappointed to find out it couldn't fly as well! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

lol. it only flies when you hit a wave at 60mph, but trust me it's scary and not something i want to do too often. It's a toy but it's got to be treated with respect.

ta.

WOW - Not a boat Guru - but this is the hounds rounds - Didn't catch the price tag on that clip /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif !!!

I can just imagine the boring bird watchers having their cornflakes pi$$ed on when the birds flew off and so had to report you.

They should get a real life instead of trying to ****** everybody else's lifes in order to try and make thier own boring existance appear normal.

yeah it happened last year? actually yeah i think i posted on here about the DSSSI Section 28P. Disturbing a Specialist Site of Sceintific Interest.

Mate you have a superb memory.

Now THAT'S what I call a boat!

I'll try to get some pics at lunchtime.

It's the WallyPower 118'. It's got three gas turbine engines @ 5,600hp each which allow it to cruise at 60 knots ( approx 70mph) and two 370hp cummins diesels for 'manouvering'. The fuel tank holds 5,614 gallons of fuel, which at top speed it burns at a rate of 14 gallons per mile. As if this wasn't bad enough, your crew will cost around £200,000 per year. At least you get a carbon fibre dining table tho!

Oh yeah. Price? Starts at around £13 million.

Yikes.

St Katherine's Dock is by Tower Bridge, about five miles from Canary Wharf. The Ilona is moored in the South Dock, between Jubilee Place & South Quay Plaza.
