Got caught speeding in what I believed to be a 40 limit, unfortunately it was a 30 limit. 47 in a 30, does this represent a ban or am I likely to get points and a fine?.

Any help greatly appreciated.

It should only be points and a fine but because you are travelling quicker than 50% of the speed limit you may get 6 points and a bigger fine. Heopfully you will be ok thought mate. Good luck!

I got 3 points and £60 for 45 in a 30.

I also got 3 points & a £60 fine for 45 in a 30, but that was 6 years back now! So luckily they're no longer valid!
