Fellow Lisbon Lion and captain of the greatest team in Celtics history, Billy McNeill, spoke movingly about his former team-mate.
Jimmy was a lovely wee man and was a team-mate and a friend to all of us for over 40 years," he said. "I was lucky enough to play alongside him and see him in his prime but I have as much respect for him as a man and the courageous way in which he handled his illness as I have for him as a footballer.
