guy crashed courtsy rs4 at castle coombe

not sure how true, but apparently was on bbc 1 claimed and shamed, so guess it is true, but not sure why a insurance company would give out a courtesy rs4, any way was said that he tried claiming he crashed on a road in to a ditch, tracker proved other wise and had to pay 25k out hes own pocket

im sure people crash on tracks all the time, just posted it as he wrecked what looks to be a new rs4 advant, then tried claming he crashed it out side the track, then got found out when the tracker showed other wise,

personally a total idiot for taking a courtesy car on track!

Powerful car, gets cocky, and bottles it into the side wall. Its a shame that things like that have to happen to make people learn a lesson. Plus, that corner is dia, I've not been far off myself before.

This is why I give Castle Coombe a miss even though its fairly local. I've just seen too many incidents there. It's a fast track and there is very little run off if it does go wrong. The corner in the video and the one over the rise into a right hander seem particularly dangerous. At Oulton Park the RS4 seemed secure on track but every car has a limit and every driver a talent limit too! I know I've made plenty of mistakes but luckily always with plenty of run off.

You have to know the risks when you go on track. Trying to claim off your road insurance is super naughty but in the era of camera phones and trackers its crazy.

That is one expensive lesson to learn!

Gutted, seen the vid before and story I read at the time was that it was his Dad's new car. Not sure which would be worse.

Yes the right hander (Quarry) is a bad one and that rise makes lift off easy on approach,I have driven and spectated and that corner is my favourite to watch.

Man that's an old one, I remember that being posted originally & the speculation was he took it abroad to get repaired before taking back to the dealer etc.
